Waxing can be one of the most effective and efficient methods of hair removal. Wherever possible choose a waxing system that uses disposable applicator heads to ensure perfect hygiene for your safety.

The main benefits of waxing is that it leaves a really smooth finish. You can avoid that sharp prickly feeling you get when you shave! Once you are regularly waxing you'll also find that you can last between 4 and 8 weeks. This is fantastic especially when you are away on holidays.

Once you commit to waxing don't give it up! If you are new to waxing you'll find that it takes a few treatments to establish a re-growth pattern. That is because whilst you are shaving your hair is at different lengths and so you may wax today but find in a couple of weeks or so that other hair is now coming through. Between 2 and 4 appointments should generally see your re-growth patterns under control. Bear this in mind if you are looking for waxing before your holiday, honeymoon etc.

So, now you have decided to wax, here's what you should do...

Exfoliate the area you are having waxed the day before your waxing appointment. This will lift off any excess dry skin and prepare your hair for removal.

Avoid applying moisturiser to the area you are having waxed as this can be create a barrier for the wax.

Your hair should be approximately 4mm long for efficient removal by waxing, this is so that the wax has something to grab onto.

Depending on your hair growth cycle it is advised to leave hair at least two weeks after shaving before waxing. This is because the hair would be too short and may cause you unnecessary pain.

No hot baths, showers, saunas, sun beds, heat treatments, swimming, gym exercise or self tan for at least 24 hours post wax.

Exfoliate twice a week to avoid in growing hairs and apply an antiseptic moisturiser to delicate areas to prevent any infection and irritation.
